Improve Community Services and Amenities

Moline should be a place where people want to live, work and visit. To do that, we must support and fully fund our library, parks and community programs. Remaining mindful of the budget, we should look for opportunities to improve the services residents rely on.

Moline has so much to offer, and I believe the city is responsible for bringing that to all residents. Our parks, the library and community programming are valuable as attractions and entertainment, but they are also a lifeline for many who rely on them as the only outlet for physical fitness, Internet access and socializing. The defunding faced by all our amenities and community services for the past few years has been heavy handed and detrimental for all of us.

The council has discussed wanting to provide efficient service, but the only results have been outsourcing and less support for our community. To better serve all Moline, I will fight to shift our conversation toward providing the best service and finding efficiencies that make Moline better instead of focusing on cutting the services residents need.
